Here I am, jotting down bit to bit about what I think about life. This is life according to me. -Qarin Almaduri, 22

Seize The Day

I know that many of us right now, at this particular moment is being sad over something. Sadness due to death of someone, make it literally or metaphorically. Sadness because of those friends who betrayed you. Sadness that happened because you are no longer your parents favorite. Sadness over your low achievement in studies and how high the expectation is from the people around you. We are at least a little bit sad inside, and that's perfectly, completely normal.

According to Greeks plays, whether by Homer or anyone else, our lives could *only* be either a comedy or a tragedy. Sure, when your life is a comedy, it would be nothing but fun and laughter all day around. But what's the point of living if all that you do is laugh? What could you learn from a comedic, funny life? I'd rather my life to be a tragedy compared to a comedy. It's the cry, sadness, anger, confusion and all other mixed emotions that our lives become worthy of living. At least that what I think. From all the mistakes we made that we learn and strive for a better life, isn't it? So think again, are you going to keep all those unhappy moments make you depressed all your life or are you going to get up and learn from those moments? At the end of the day, it's you who'd be picking yourself back up and rearrange all those broken pieces. Ergo, the choice is all yours to made.

On a brighter note, we are also all a little bit happy inside. I know that after certain amount of time, sadness feels like a very close friend - who'd creep behind the shadow when you're happy and of course will be there when you are, well, sad. But don't let that feeling keeps you from enjoying lives, alright? Carpe diem - that's what they say. Live your life moment to moment. When you're happy, enjoy that freaking moment. Smile, laugh, make stupid jokes, do that. And when you're sad, then get through it, eat a huge tub of ice cream, sleep all day, do all that, but don't give up. There's always hope.

"Fear and hope is like a pair of wings -- you need both to fly." -Imam Maturidi

Sure, you should be cautious in whatever you are doing, especially in something that you're afraid that you might never get through. This particular depressed moment, for example. But always have hope that you'll manage. Only then you'll be able to dream, to live life worthy of living.
